In January 2026 Helvar Components added the LC20MN22-DA-80-500 to its MN22 MINI Slim range: a 20 W DALI-2 driver with the same 22 mm height as the larger models, in a body only 90 mm long. It is aimed at panels, downlights and any luminaire where the gear tray is short and shallow.

Smaller body, same 22 mm profile

The MN22 family is built around a 22 mm high case so it fits slim luminaires. The 20 W model shortens that case to 90 x 43 x 22 mm, which makes it the most compact driver in the series when it launched. It is rated for luminaire classes I, II and III, carries SELV60 load protection and is listed by Helvar for up to 100,000 hours.

Current set on DIP switches

Output current is selected with DIP switches from 80 mA to 500 mA, with an output voltage window of 2.5 to 49 V. That covers small downlight modules at the low end and compact panels at the top, so one stocked part can serve several luminaire variants. It also works with the Helvar Driver Configurator for setting it in the factory.

DALI-2 with D4i Smart Data

The driver dims from 1 % to 100 % using Helvar's hybrid method, controlled over DALI-2 or by Push to Fade from a simple retractive switch. It also carries the D4i compatible Smart Data banks: luminaire data (DALI part 251), energy reporting (part 252) and maintenance and diagnostics (part 253). On a DALI-2 system that means each luminaire can report its own energy use and running hours without extra hardware. Helvar states compliance with IEEE 1789-2015 for flicker.

Emergency and certification

ENEC, CB and EL certifications were in place at launch, and the driver is approved for emergency applications on central DC battery systems through its 176 to 280 V DC input range.

Two Helvar click-on strain reliefs for MN22 drivers, a closed LC-SR-MN22 cover and an open LC-SR-MN22-LOOP with wires in its terminals
Click-on strain reliefs LC-SR-MN22 (left) and LC-SR-MN22-LOOP (right) turn the driver into an independent unit.

For independent installation outside a luminaire, Helvar offers separate click-on strain reliefs, the LC-SR-MN22 and the LC-SR-MN22-LOOP for looped mains wiring. The larger LC43MN22-DA-300-1050 covers the same slim format at 43 W.
