Luxtron makes twelve downlight families, and each one exists because a common job needed it: low ceilings, IP rated areas, retail output without glare, a ceiling where every downlight has to match. They share the same core parts, Helvar control gear and Citizen or other high quality LED sources, so the choice comes down to the space, not the supplier.
Every family has its real datasheet PDFs on its product page, usually a family sheet plus one sheet per model.
The families at a glance
| Family | What it is for | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| ALENA | Projects that need one look in many formats | Modular, more than 41 configurations per wattage, 6 W to 30 W single and 60 W double |
| CISCA | The everyday downlight | Fixed and adjustable, narrow to wide and asymmetric optics, CRI 80 or 90 |
| DOWNY | Small cutouts, compact lumen packages | CRI 90 or above, from 350 lm at 6 W in a 50 mm cutout |
| GIDO 12 | Highlighting and wall washing | Gimbal that tilts 60° and rotates 360°, 1100 lm at 12 W |
| JONNY | High output retail | Low UGR, five cutouts, adjustable options at the top of the range |
| LIDO | Linear multi-head downlights | Recessed, trimless or surface, optics up to flood and wall washer |
| PEN | Pendant | 6 W or 10 W, standalone, on magnetic track or on Stucchi ONETRACK |
| PICA | Small, simple downlight | 6 W to 25 W, three reflector rings that can be finished in your colour |
| SNAPPY | Tight ceiling voids | 6 W to 20 W, low UGR, CRI up to 97 |
| SPANO / SPANO2 | Surface and suspended cylinders | Zhaga compliant parts, DALI-2 or 1-10V, six reflector colours on SPANO2 |
| VOSKO | Wet and dusty areas | IP rated, round or square, eight sizes, CRI 90 Citizen COBs |
ALENA: one family, many ceilings
ALENA is built from a small set of LED engines and a large set of frames: round and square, with trim or trimless, single, double or more in a row, fixed or adjustable. The adjustable engine moves ±30° and rotates 355°. The reflector with honeycomb gets it to UGR < 16, and the frames clip together without tools, which matters for maintenance as much as installation. There are frames for MR16 modules as well.
For a sense of output, the 6 W module gives 389 lm at 3000 K and CRI 80 (335 lm at CRI 90), and the 14 W module gives 1279 lm at 3000 K, CRI 80.

Retail and accent: JONNY, GIDO and CISCA
Shops need output, but not at the cost of colour or glare. JONNY covers the high wattage end with beams of 15°, 24°, 36° and 60°, and the twin head reaches 3600 lm from 2 x 20 W. GIDO 12 is the one to use when the light has to be aimed at a wall or a display, since the head tilts and rotates and the reflectors swap.
CISCA is the workhorse. The 70 mm round model gives 533 lm at 7 W through a 65 mm cutout, and the tilt-20 versions with asymmetric beams are made for washing walls from a standard downlight hole.

Shallow ceilings, small holes and wet areas
SNAPPY exists for ceilings where there is little space above the tile, and still offers CRI 80, 90 or 97. DOWNY keeps the cutout small: the downy 50 takes a 50 mm hole and the downy 110 gives 1200 lm at 12 W with a wide 90° beam. PICA connects with a 3.5 mm jack, so the luminaire and its driver plug together without loose wiring at the ceiling.
VOSKO is the IP rated family, in round and square shapes, with a pre-wired Helvar driver and Citizen COBs at CRI 90 and 3-step MacAdam.

Control and colour
Across the range, dimming is DALI-2, wireless or 1-10V depending on the model, with Helvar control gear. Colour temperatures are mostly 2700, 3000 and 4000 K, with others on request. The range carries a 5 year guarantee, built on Citizen light sources and Helvar drivers rated for 50,000 hours.
