Helvar Components' LL drivers are the long, narrow linear format built to sit inside linear luminaires, troffers and panels. The range is wide, and the suffixes tell you most of what you need to know: HE, SE, iC, SBS, IND and CV each solve a different problem.
Below is a field guide to the current LL families we supply, with figures taken from Helvar Components' own datasheets.
HE: high efficiency, high voltage windows
The HE drivers are non-isolated and run long strings of LEDs at high voltage, which is where they get their efficiency. The LL80HE-DA-100-800 delivers up to 80 W, with an output current adjustable from 100 mA to 800 mA and a voltage window of 35 V to 330 V. Efficiency is up to 94 %, THD at full power 5 %, and it is DALI-2 with D4i-compatible Smart Data (DALI parts 251 to 253).
The family scales from the LL35HE-DA-80-400 (35 W) up to the LL165HE-DA-300-1050 (165 W, up to 96 % efficiency), with on/off CC versions alongside the DALI ones.
The LL80HE16-DA-80-550 is the slim member: a 16 mm profile, 80 W, DALI-2, and efficiency up to 95.5 %. It ships with a 250 V output limit by default; a 350 V mode can be enabled by NFC programming when the luminaire design allows it.

SE: SELV output for safer luminaire design
SE drivers keep the output below 60 V (SELV), with double or reinforced insulation between mains and output. That relaxes the insulation requirements inside the luminaire. The LL50SE-DA-100-1400 covers 100 mA to 1400 mA at 25 V to 54 V, 50 W, DALI-2 with amplitude dimming from 1 % to 100 %. The current can be set with external LED-Iset resistors, by NFC or over DALI.
iC: tunable white and two-channel control
The iC drivers have two output channels. The LL50iC-DA-100-1200 G2 (50 W, SELV) and LL100iC-DA-100-800 (100 W) support DALI DT8 tunable white and DT6 two-channel DualControl, so one driver can run warm and cool LED channels or two independent loads. There is also a Freedom version, the LL50iC-FD-100-1200, for wireless systems.
SBS, IND and FD: specialist versions
- SBS (Smart BiSwitchable): on/off drivers with the current set by mains switching. The LL120HE-SBS-50-800 reaches up to 97 % efficiency, the LL80HE-SBS-50-800 up to 96.5 %.
- IND (Industrial): ambient range of minus 40 °C to plus 70 °C and a Tc maximum of 85 °C or 90 °C depending on the model, for high bays and hot ceiling voids. Available from 80 W to 165 W in DALI-2 and on/off versions.
- FD (Freedom): drivers with the Freedom interface that powers an external radio node, so the luminaire can join Casambi or other wireless systems. The LL80HE-FD-150-850-RAD has the antenna and radio built in.

CV: constant voltage for strips
For strip and low-voltage systems, the LL line includes 24 V and 48 V constant voltage drivers with integrated strain relief: the LL45-CV24-DA, LL80-CV24-DA and LL150-CV24-DA on DALI-2, the LL1x75-E-CV24 and LL1x180-CV24 for on/off, and the 48 V LL60-CV48 and LL100-CV48-DA.
Features found across the current DALI-2 models
- NFC programming through Helvar Driver Configurator, without mains connected (most models).
- Amplitude dimming from 1 % to 100 %, complying with the IEEE 1789 recommendations.
- Constant Light Output, adjustable up to 100 000 h.
- Corridor Control and Switch-Control on most models, for simple sensor or push-button control without a DALI system.
- Emergency operation from central battery systems, with automatic AC/DC recognition.
