In September 2019 we began supplying A.A.G. Stucchi track in circular and curved forms, made to the radius and lengths on each project's drawings. At the time it was Stucchi's Eurostandard Plus mains track, bent into full circles, arcs and S-shapes, and other shapes were possible on request.

What we were asked to build
The requests that came in were rarely a simple ring. The project sheet above shows the range: a full circle of radius 2134 mm centred in a meeting room, an S-curve made of two arcs of radius 2135 mm, a long racetrack shape with straight sides and tight rounded ends, an eye-shaped run following a ceiling feature, and a quarter-circle following a curved wall. Two photos show the finished result: a curved track suspended under an open ceiling, and a ring of track following the line of a round reception desk below it.
Each one started from the reflected ceiling plan, with the radius, arc lengths and fixing points taken from the drawing. That is why the sheet is mostly CAD: the shape has to be fixed before the track is ordered.
Control was the same as straight track
Bending the profile does not change what runs inside it. The curved Eurostandard Plus track kept its conductors, so circular runs could be fed and controlled like any straight run, with DALI, 0-10V, DMX or KNX, and fitted with the same adaptors and spotlights as the rest of the ceiling.
Curved track in the current Stucchi ranges
Stucchi has since organised its track into the ONETRACK (mains) and EVO (48 V) ranges, and both include curved track. These are the curved items listed on our product pages today:
| Track | Range | Radius | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9000A-R (black, grey, white) | ONETRACK | ≥ 600 mm | 16 A / 440 V |
| 9500-R...E (black, white) | EVO | ≥ 350 mm | 15 A / 60 V dc |
| 9500-R...I (black, white) | EVO | ≥ 450 mm | 15 A / 60 V dc |
| 9500-R05E-90, 9500-R035E-90 | EVO | 500 mm, 350 mm (90° arcs) | 15 A / 60 V dc |

The made-to-radius items are listed with a minimum radius rather than a fixed one, which is how the 2019 projects worked too: the radius comes from the drawing. The fixed 90° EVO arcs suit smaller rooms where a standard quarter-circle is enough.
Sending us a curved layout
A ceiling plan with the radius, arc length and the height of the track is enough for us to start. Browse the ONETRACK and EVO ranges, then send us the drawing and we will come back with the track, joints and feeds it needs.
